Glossier - Why the hype?

I feel like everyone is somewhat of a photographer these days (thanks Instagram) so it's hard not to enjoy a brand that is visually pleasing and checks all of the boxes when it comes to being efficient as well as photogenic.
Glossier is one of those brands.

Millennial, pale, baby pink is a popular colour for a lot of skin and makeup packaging these days because of how it photographs and makes your Insta look instantly cool. I can definitely say I buy at least 80% of my products I use based on cute packaging (ridiculous, I know). I also choose my morning coffee on how the cafe looks too, not on the coffee it's self (even more ridiculous). Glossier's packaging is yes, pink. But is all of this hype based on the packaging or the product it's self. The brands whole philosophy circles around skin and is so minimalistic it makes you feel New York City cool. I love a good 12 step skincare routine but I also like to pass out in my towel after my shower so a happy balance is key and Glossier gives me that. On my recent trip to the states I bought the Priming Moisturiser, Milky Jelly Cleanser and Super Pure serum because why not? Everyone raves about these products! I have finished the serum and cleanser but am yet to finish my moisturiser. Super Pure is awesome at reducing redness and helping reduce inflammation from breakouts and sensitivity, which is exactly why I purchased it while traveling. My skin had a rough time adjusting to the harsh cold that comes to New York City every Winter so using this serum under my moisturiser really helped. I have bought the Milky Jelly Cleanser for the second time now and love the smell and gentleness of the product. It won't remove all of your makeup if you have Estée Lauder Double Wear on but that's ok because I normally use an oil or Bioderma first anyway. Double cleansing is always key! I am yet to finish my Priming Moisturiser as I change up moisturisers every week (well at least that's how it feels...) I liked that this moisturiser layers really well but for me it's to humid here in Brisbane to wear if it's not cold out! Now on to Makeup!

I bought the original trio of Balm Dot Com off Netporter a year ago and have just finished my first full tube! This Balm has lasted for ages and I use it on the regular or at least when my lips are windburned and bleeding. This is one of the only lip balms I can put on at night and wake up with it still on the next morning - unless Matt and I are having a sleepover... then we share my Balm Dot Com. TMI?? From then I was super excited to buy the Coconut and mint flavours but nothing compared to the Birthday Balm Dot Com! Packaging ✔️ smell ✔️ glitter ✔️ As you can probably tell I'm a little obsessed with these... to this day I have 7 and I don't feel like that's enough! I also use Glossier's Cloud Paints in Puff, Haze and Beam. I recently purchased Haze and Beam after falling in love with Puff (a fairy floss pink colour) and had absolutely no regrets! Haze is a bright raspberry colour, almost the same colour as an old revlon lipstick I wore on my cheeks in high school. I wore it to death until they discontinued it... Beam is a pretty apricot/orange that reminds me a lot of Too Faced's Love Flush blush in 'I Will Always Love You ' except Beam is a cream and this one is not. Also Beam doesn't have shimmer in it... actually now thinking about it they aren't that similar... my bad! Anyway... Cloud Paint is the bomb!

Boy Brow in Blonde is another product that I have bought for the second time. It gives your brows hold while also giving a little colour! I use it on its own when I'm wearing little to no makeup and wear it over a brow pencil when I'm going a little heavier. I am yet to try the rest of the range but I'm sure I will! If I haven't convinced you enough to buy the range check their Instagram and I'm sure you'll be easily persuaded!
