Lists Are Important

I want to look back on my life and truly feel utterly fulfilled with all of my choices and memories. I know there will be times where I look back and wonder why I did what I did but at the same time that doesn’t bother me, as long as all of my wishes are checked off my list.

You’re probably wondering what my list is at this point, right?

Or wondering why I have a list in the first place.

Let me tell you a little bit more about myself.

I have OCD. Not in a ‘cripple my life’ type of way, but wrinkled sheets drive me insane and when things aren’t put back in their original spots that really grinds my gears also. I have a little anxiety that sometimes makes it hard to breathe if I am under a lot of pressure, and on top of that I also am a perfectionist.

I know, this probably sounds like 80% of the population and you’re probably right but to me I find certain steps I take help me retain normalcy when I become a OCD, anxious, perfectionist monster.

One of those steps is writing lists.

Lists about jobs I need to get done.

Lists about for Christmas present ideas (or any present ideas).

Lists on plans I have made to see when that fits in with work.

Lists of groceries (otherwise I forget everything I needed when I get to the shop).

Well you get the picture.

I find it therapeutic to list everything.

So now that you know I am little crazy (just kidding… sort of) I am going to tell you what is on my personal goal checklist.

1 Get a job that I love and enjoying waking up and doing it everyday

I have a job that I love, in a big company that is only getting bigger, but sometimes I feel like I need more fulfillments. For that reason I haven’t checked this one off my list yet.

2

Move overseas

This one has been on my list for years now and it is still in the works. I wouldn’t care to go by myself or with someone, just as long as I do it before it gets to late!

3

Create change in the world

I want to create a positive change in the world with whatever I can.

4

Have enough money to send my parents away on a trip of there choosing

I love my family and they have always done so much for me. I would love to have worked hard enough to give them something back. That would be the dream.

5

Get a boy that I love and is also my best friend (corny I know)

Why is this one of my goals your probably wondering?

It’s pretty simple. I love love.

This one is checked off my list too.

There is more but these are the main ones that didn’t sound weird and are more or likely possible for me to achieve. Actually, all goals can be achieved if you work hard enough (or is that just the optimist in me talking). I’m going to try and give it a go at least.

Love Jessica
