Another Boring Skincare Routine

Yes, my skincare has upped and changed again. A real shock to everyone I'm sure. I change skincare products as much as I change my underwear, and yes I know it's probably not great for my skin but it's my job and I like to mix it up. A little run down. My skin is combination, more oily than dry and definitely dehydrated (thanks alcohol and coffee) with the regular hormonal breakouts around my chin. I try to be minimal but I guess I also like to be a little extra as well. I have gone through a lot of cleansers and by gone through I mean I have tried them for a week and they go back in my over capacitated cupboard. I know you won't see results for at least a few weeks but I'm experimental to say the least. So as of this present moment I have two cleansers I am enjoying that much that they are both nearly finished. Believe me, I'm as shocked as you are.

Uno, is Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser. I like the smell, I like the consistency, I like that I'm not dry after use and I really like that I can use it over my eyes, easy peasy. Dose, is Sunday Riley Blue Moon Cleansing Balm. Similar to the glossier cleanser I like all of those things plus I like that no matter how much makeup I have slathered on that day, this bad boy gets it all off in one go. No doubly cleansing necessary.

Exfoliation is as important to me as brushing my teeth. I need a scrub, I can't live without one, I've tried. Goldfaden Doctors Scrub has been my lasted lust for the last few months and I'm nearly at the end of this product as well. It's grainy enough to satisfy my textural needs but doesn't over do the exfoliation like some other brands.

Serums are also important to me. I use a mixture of them for hydration, protection and decongestant purposes. Right now, I feel like my skin has been all over the shop so I have gone back to Drunk Elephant TLC Night Serum to help relieve my breakouts, and reduce my congestion around my chin. I also use Kate Somerville's Dermal Quench in the morning as it helps with hormonal breakouts as well as extra hydration.

Moisturiser is something I have a love/hate relationship with. I need moisture but I also hate feeling oily (says everyone ever). I'm currently on the Tatcha band wagon at the moment and have been loving how my skin feels. I'm using the Water Cream and it genuinely makes your skin feel like silk. I do think my skin needs a little extra hydration right now though so I normally layer an oil at night.

Oils. Thank god we are nearing the end. I love Sunday Riley and Drunk Elephant so it shouldn't be a surprise that I would love Luna Oil and Marula Oil. Luna from Sunday Riley is a Retinol based Oil that targets congestion and fine lines and Marula Oil is Drunk Elephant's signature ingredient that is reparative and hydrating. I mean, both oils are hydrating but It just depends what my skin needs at the moment. Luna can't be used with my TLC serum so I use that when I'm having an off day but Marula Oil can, so I alternate. This is excessive and I know unrealistic to most people. But I hope I helped a few of you out with similar skin to mine find something new to try out! Let me know how it goes!
