A peel seems like a scary term but in actual fact it's something that you should be excited over! Peels refresh, brighten, re-texturise and firm the skin. They are great for every skin type as well depending on what peel you get.

Today I'm not here to talk to you about a full on, face (literally) peeling, in house cosmetic grade peel. I'm here to talk to you about the peel you can use from the comfort of your home without a worry in the world.

When I want to heal post breakout marks, rid my skin of dry patches while also smoothing out congestion I go towards Dr Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads or Dermalogica Daily Resurfacer Pads. Both of these products have a concoction of acids that help resurface and brighten the skin.

Dr Dennis Gross has three versions of his best selling peel pads in ultra gentle, original and extra strength. I use the extra strength because I have used acids in the past and my skin needs a little more punch but if your a little sensitive maybe try the lower strengths first! It is a two step system that you wipe over your face after cleansing and before Moisturiser. The first step has all of the exfoliating ingredients and the second step neutralises the acids and nourishes the skin. The extra strength version has Glycolic, Salicylic, Lactic, Malic and Mandelic Acid as well as a little amount of Retinol. All of these ingredients aid in giving you a brighter and more even complexion! This is my go to product before I have an event to really smooth my skin over.

Dermalogica also has a Daily Resurfacer that works similarly to Dr Dennis Gross's version. Though the Dermalogica Peel might not look like it has as many acids in their ingredients, they also use a mixture of enzymes that work a little differently but are still effective for exfoliation. If you think of your skin cells as a brick wall; acids eat away that the grout to loosen the bricks and enzymes eat the loose bricks (I've always loved that analogy).

Both of these at home Resurfacers work amazing at giving your skin a super glow as well as obviously giving a thorough exfoliation. Which one to go for is up to you! Both offer awesome results and help all of your other skin care products absorb better which helps you look younger for longer. Who doesn't want that?
