If I was stuck on a deserted island and was only allowed one item, I'll tell you what it would be without even thinking about it... Concealer! (Obviously I would ask for food or water but purely for this post lets just say it could only be a beauty item ok) If I go out to the shops on the weekend and my skin is looking pretty good, I'll just pop a little concealer on any redness and call it a day. If my day is semi average and I need a pick me up, concealer picks me up. If I dint my parents car with my car door, a little concealer fixes that too. So you see, concealer literally fixes everything (ok obviously it doesn't fix dints in car doors but you get the picture) I've gone through my fair share of base products as far as foundation, powder and concealer go. Nothing makes my morning better than if my skins looking flawless so good complexion products are where most (all) of my money goes. As I've gotten older I've ran with the less is more approach and downgraded from my typical full coverage matte foundations and opted for more of a tinted moisturiser/sheer foundation with added concealer just where needed. This way I get coverage in the areas that need it and I don't cover up the clear areas of my skin that I worked so hard to clear ya know? It just makes sense! So lets get into my top concealer and why. Nars Creamy Concealer is a cult product and it has been for a long time now for good reason. This concealer gets rid of under eyes and blemishes like an eraser for the face. It's not heavy or too thick if you use your fingers to tap out and blend the product into the skin which is how I use it. I set the concealer with a little powder under my eyes to stop any creasing and that's all you need. It gives optimal coverage without compromising the natural look of your skin! Mac Pro Long Wear Concealer was my go to before I used Nars. Not to say it is less than what Nars is, it is just a little different. I like the way this Concealer sort of sets its self. I can pop this over an area on my face and not set with powder and be confident that it will still be on my face by the end of the day. It is a little heavier so I apply this with my fingers as well to blend it out. Too Faced Born This Way Concealer is a more sheer to medium coverage in comparison to my first two preferences. I like this one for just under my eyes as it doesn't crease and gives a really natural finish. This is my 'I've slept for a solid 8 hours and don't look as hagged' concealer. Last but not least is my beloved Bare Minerals Concealer in 'Well Rested'. As the name suggests this Concealer is meant to give your under eyes the illusion of being 'well rested' but I use this for covering red pimples. This definitely doesn't work for every skin tone but if you are a fair gal like me you should give this one a go. It's a powder so it has super full coverage and you need to be careful not to apply to much but nothing covers a big blind pimple as well as this one.
